As Director of Tax at Curio Wealth, Traci works closely with advisors to integrate tax planning into clients’ broader financial pictures. With more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, Traci brings extensive technical expertise and a deep understanding of the processes, communication, and client service expertise required to build a thoughtful, responsive tax practice.
Traci began her career in accounting, following in the footsteps of her father, a CPA. What started as a natural aptitude for accounting has grown into a career she loves. Traci was drawn the opportunity to return to a collaborative environment where she could make a direct impact on the tax department. Earning her Certified Financial Planner® certification further deepened her interest in the relationship between taxes, investments, and financial planning, making Curio a natural fit.
At Curio, Traci collaborates with our financial advisors and also works directly with clients. She believes tax planning is most effective when it is treated as an ongoing part of a client’s financial strategy rather than a once-a-year exercise. Her goal is to make sure clients know what to expect with regard to taxes and their implications on long-term goals, and that they feel heard and confident that the entire Curio team is working together on their behalf.
Client service has been a touchstone throughout Traci’s career. She values clear communication, responsiveness, and strong processes that keep clients informed without asking them to carry the mental load of taxes themselves. For Traci, a successful client relationship is one built on trust—trust that comes from clear communication, shared expectations, and proactive guidance. She strives to ensure that clients always know where tax processes stand, are clear about next steps, and feel confident their team is looking ahead rather than simply reacting at tax time.
Outside of work, Traci enjoys running, reading, cooking and listening to live music. She lives with her husband, a professional musician, and their two children and two rescue dogs in Rockville, MD. As an introvert in a lively household, Traci also appreciates the occasional quiet afternoon with a good book.
