As of August 2024, Chad transitioned to part-time in his role as a Financial Advisor at Curio Wealth to pursue a PhD in Human Ecology: Consumer Behavior & Family Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Chad is primarily interested in researching how public and regulatory policy affects household financial decision-making, particularly how information sources, education, and social behavior contribute to the interpretation and understanding of laws, regulations, and financial information. He is also interested in researching the intersection of behavioral economics and decision-making with mental health, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Chad earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation and became an Accredited Financial Counselor® in 2023, cementing his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of expertise and ethical conduct. His academic prowess includes a Master of Family and Consumer Sciences with a specialization in family financial planning and financial counseling from Iowa State University. Furthermore, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and finance from Bridgewater College .
As an advisor, Chad actively engages in the entire financial planning process, collaborating closely with lead advisors to ensure optimal client service. His responsibilities include client planning, participating in update meetings, and addressing ongoing service needs. A unique quality that sets Chad apart is his innate passion for learning. This quality fuels his personal growth and positions him as a valuable resource, enabling him to grasp diverse planning styles and provide insightful contributions to his team.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chad actively contributes to the financial planning community. He serves on the AFCPE® Government Relations Task Force, showcasing his dedication to advancing the industry.
Looking ahead, Chad envisions a future where he continues to grow his expertise in tax planning, education planning, and financial counseling. His career aspirations include teaching aspiring financial planners in a higher education setting, contributing to local financial education non-profit organizations, and improving consumer advocacy policy and financial empowerment. Chad’s profound appreciation for learning reflects his belief that education is a powerful tool for understanding diverse perspectives, connecting with people, and fostering fundamental human connections.
